Rocket LaunchNew Machinima Video Features ISM ContentWatch this YouTube video by SL resident Earth Primbee to see some of the ISM exhibits in action, including the Titan II rocket launch, and images of several other exhibits. Some of this video was recorded on Elon's Moon platform, and other parts feature NASA film clips. All in all, a great video!
Jeff Barr Blogged the Shuttle Launch Coverage in July......and I missed it back then, so here are links to those two blog posts now. Better late than never! P.S. Jeff has recently created a way to put a web page on a prim (via the parcel's video URL). You say the "/3" followd by the webpage's URL, wait 10 seconds for some behind-the-scenes magic, and voila! Very cool.
Space Shuttle Launches (Finally!)Space Shuttle Atlantis finally launched today, after multiple delays. The museum showed live video coverage of the launch on the big screens at the central stage. Lots of people came out to watch.

Spaceport Alpha Overflows for Shuttle Launch EventToday's live coverage of the Space Shuttle launch was great fun! (It even launched this time.) Thanks to NASA TV for making their feed streamable into Second Life. Thanks also to everyone who turned of bling and other scripts to reduce server load: the sim never crashed. Spaceport Alpha had over 70 avs in it at one point (even though the limit is set to 70... I'm not sure how that works). CDB Barkley (aka Alan Levine) wrote about his experience at the event on the NMC Campus Observer blog. Thanks to buridan Simon who set up extra seating at the Kula Theater (in Kula and three other sims).
Webcast audio & video now availableI just got an IM from Meno Rich with URLs for the audio and first video clips made during the Worldbridges tour of the museum last night. Thanks very much to Meno an
